Question about nesting behavior

Okay so my Rainbow and Marley got a new sleep house, its a triangular cloth tent, made for ferrets but very cool for them! Anyway, Marley is defending it! If I stick my hand in there he/she will come down off his/her play swings and into the cage to go into the tent and bite my fingers....so Im wondering is this a typical male or female behavior? I think I caught them humping the other day too...or attempting it...although they really are much too young for that sillyness. Any thoughts? Its abnormal for marley to be aggressive....

First off...yay, a dusky! I don't see enough on here. ^^

It's not all that strange though for a bird to be a bit protective of their bed/a small enclosed space like that....Luca (sun) is never happy when I need to reach into her bed to brush food out or something. She doesn't attack, but she'll scream angrily. She'll also nip my arm if pulling out an old toy/putting ina new one. Mainly they're just defending their little homes, cause it's theirs even if they trust you.

It's like...when you're a teenager and your rents come into your room and start looking at things or touching things....it's your stuff, even if you know they own the house and practically everything in it!
