Life Pre-Kiwi

So, we are going out of town for a short weekend trip and I brought Kiwi (sun conure) to our favorite bird shop (to be boarded) this Wednesday afternoon. It's super clean and the people/birds are AMAZING. It's a 40 minute drive, so it better be perfect for Kiwi :). The house is so nice and quiet...I got all cleaning, homework, and packing done. I am wondering, do any of you (especially one-bird owners) miss your pre-bird life? As much as I love Kiwi with all of my heart...this is wonderful! HAHA! Kiwi is the best form of birth control....I tell my friends Kiwi is like 10 kids wrapped into one bird. I am changing my mind about wanting kids at all (I am only 21..) if this is ANY foreshadowing of what my life will be like with kids. Call me selfish, but I like to do what I want, when I want...and even little Kiwi has changed that somewhat.

Do any of you miss your pre-bird life? Even a little? :)

Ironically, I'm a year away from being a teacher! :) I love my little cousins and other children...but to have my own is another story. My boyfriend is has 5 other siblings, so go figure, he wants a larger family. I think one perfect little only child (like myself) is perfect! hahaha For now I'll stick to Kiwi. ...Just finished "power mopping" little pieces of papaya from all over the tile. I think he drops more than he eats. :)

lol so does Abbey. We have her, a dog, cat and fish. So we have a full house. I love having pets. I grew up on a farm so I am use to it. I would much rather have a pet than a screaming baby.... We have being thinking about adopting a 3 or 4 year old. But not until my husband makes Chief

One thing that children teach you is not to be selfish. Once you have a child, your life is no longer about you, but about them and their health, happiness and safety. I wouldn't trade motherhood for the world. It is my greatest acheivement in life.
As far as pre-birdhood, Sometimes when my Sammy, the U2, goes on a screaming jag, I think boy what was it like to have a quiet house! I love him though. Unconditionally!

I want a RABBIT so bad right now. When we finally get our own house (we rent an apartment right on the beach!) we want a Yorkie and a miniature Sheltie! People abandon their cats and rabbits on our street (we actually on an "island") and they wont cross the two bridges to land, so they're stuck here. On my drive home I see the same 5 rabbits everyday! So sweet! I LOVE animals. I think I should've been a vet...

My mom is obsessed with me (HAHA), so I understand how you say it's your greatest achievement :) I'm sure one day I'll be ready...

I dont really miss my pre-bird life, but its DEFINITELY like having kids! My schedule works around theres and I finally get "me" time when they both go to bed. I dont know if its silly or not but its definitely taught me a thing or two about what its going to be like having children, even dogs have done that!! We've discussed it at length and probably wont ever have children which is fine for us, neither of us really want to which of course could change as we get older, were only 25 (although MANY of my friends already have kids!!)

Im fine having my birds as kids! I love my pets, I wouldn't have a full life without them.

I honestly don't have a pre-life to birds. I think I'd go nuts without having something shrieking at me.

haha Your signature picture is pretty impressive. I would love to visit your house! I just could never take care of that many birds, personally.
