I wonder if they know...

I had to wait for HOURS trying to get Ziva to come out of her cage. We moved things around upstairs so we could (finally) move her up to the livingroom. She was waiting me out. Finally I had her step up on my hand (which she has NEVER done for me while inside the cage, so I didn't try until it was a last ditch effort). I had Rayne put in her sleep cage and the boys covered and lights dimmed to try to keep everyone quiet and her from attempting to fly off my hand while I was moving her. She did pretty well. She took a grape and started talking non-stop within 2 minutes of getting her back in her cage. She's STUBBORN as all get out, though. She's usually coming out of her cage within a couple minutes of me opening the door.. and has always been that way. I have no idea why she refused to come out today. Unless she knew that something was up....

Do you mean she knew she was moving upstairs? I definitely think animals can sense things. When we left this past weekend the dogs just followed us around while we were packing and getting things ready. They were so solemn and quiet and they literally looked SAD. They knew what was going on, I know it. Its good though that Ziva (by the way Im a big fan of NCIS now and whenever I see her on TV I think of your grey!!) stepped up on your hand. Her progress sounds amazing - she really trusts you guys and I think thats great!! She is going to live out a long & happy life.

Yeah.. that's what I meant. She's just not the type to 'not' come out... but I was really surprised that she stepped up for me while in her cage! She was sitting the the doorway of her cage talking to me and making all her noises... even stuck her head out a couple of times while ceiling walking..but wouldn't come out. Odd.

The dogs have always acted strange if we had plans to 'go' for the weekend.. even though they usually go with us. I just figured when they saw the bags come out to pack, that was their clue. I didn't expect Ziva to act like something was up, though. It's going to take her some getting used to I think. She's heard these guys the whole time, but being in the same room makes them MUCH louder! She was talking to them on and off... I wonder what they think about that!

She's looking very cute...but don't let her fool you!

Is she still plucking? She looks alot better. I think animals can tell when something is up.

She is still plucking some... but she's let a bunch of pins open around her neck and the sides of her upper chest, so she's better about it. She came out quickly like she normally does yesterday afternoon! So I guess she was messing with me... however, it took me awhile to get her back in. That made me late leaving for work, etc. Ah, well... she's a real smart alec sometimes!
