The change isn't bothering anyone, it is the full moon that is causing trouble
Anyone else have greys that are night owls? I was working with a grey who insisted on crunchy pellets at 2am. I thought that maybe his previous home had funny hours. Nope, my Mickey is crazy too.
In the middle of the night, I hear Mickey eating and moving around his cage, it sounds loud when the house is perfectly silent. And with the full moon shining through the sunroom, it seems to be party time

Ugh....my fids share my bedroom with me (yay for loft beds! otherwise I'd have no room o.0) and Etienne would just not huuush when I climbed into bed. I think the full moon makes everybody crazy!

I'm hoping it's just a baby thing though and not a macaw thing....maybe once I get his octopus thing made he'll go under there and get a bit more privacy and not wake up so much. o.0

I have still never caught him sleeping....macaws are insane, I tell you.

I have been messing with their schedules for a long time. Avian lighting is the best thing! I didn't want them going to bed early or getting up early since I work nights. However, something has set them off. I don't think they're taking the naps they usually take or something. I think that Ziva was trying to get them to hush when I was in bed yesterday trying to sleep...

She say's "Hey!" and then does a loud strange whistle... LOL

it gives us less flying time after i get home from work. its bad enough that the days are getting shorter, then all of a sudden we loose an hour. i cant wait til the evenings get stretched again in the spring.

Seems that when it starts getting dark they do their flock calls. We just have to feed them their dinner earlier.

As soon as it is dark, Shakti goes into her cage and let's me know it is time to cover her up. Baby Isis get's comfy on her outside perch and eventually I put her in. Dharma....well Dharma likes to party at night so she still has her Mommy and Daddy and me time!

But mornings start earlier....so we have adjusted to it like nature intended. We go to bed earlier, we rise earlier....Unless it is the weekend and we all know that anything goes!

actually you get to sleep in an extra hour, but it only counts the first day then everything evens out again.

Well - that's if you sleep in for the "extra" hour... I don't "sleep in" usually - I just get up at 4:00am and go to bed an hour earlier as well... :-)

Gari just follows our schedule and doesn't seem to worry to much about it.

Well, Lola has no issue with going to bed and neither do my others with the time change. It just seemed to have triggered the mating behaviour.
