24 yr old Grey laid an egg today

Sammy Gray(her first owner thought she was a he),oh and her last name is Gray, hence the spelling.Anyway, she let me file her nails and was submissive yesterday. This morning, an egg was in the bottom of her cage.Should I remove it?She's quiet, not demanding her mash.Nibbling on feed.Do you think she'll lay a couple more? Please guide me to help her.

She will probably lay more eggs. It is best not to remove the eggs as that will just cause her to lay more eggs to replace the eggs that you remove.

I would remove the broken egg and clean the cage. Make sure she's getting plenty of calcium in her diet (as I'm sure you know, greys are often calcium deficient anyway, and she's using it to make eggs). You can supliment by giving her ground up eggshells in her mash. Just make sure they are from hardboiled eggs, or the shells are boiled before using them.

I am glad you posted this. My 6 yo grey I was told has laid in the past, and she's making eyes at me all the time now and being very flirty. Although I don't really handle her (except to have her step up to return her to her condo) I am worried she will lay an egg soon! Anyone know where I can get fake eggs that would be grey size??

I agree with Franciscus, remove the egg. Do give her additional calcium but also make sure she is getting plenty of daily natural sunshine, if at all possible (not thru window glass) and adequate vitamin D-3 rich foods and/or supplements.

Jag, maybe if you Google fake bird eggs there will be sites come up that sell them?

You might also look into organic type eggs as I remember reading something about why regular supermkt. eggs are not the best for our parrots to be consuming or even the shells, whether boiled or not. I'll try to find that info. for you and everyone else.
