Lexi did the same thing (aspirating) when the breeder was hand feeding. She developed a respiratory infection which spread to her brain and led to blindness.

After reading this, i realise she was a very lucky girl.

The quotation was really me quoting Chico's Mom - just to put credit where it's due.

Yeah, aspirating food isn't always an instant death sentence ...but the pneumonia sneaks in. Even when my wee ones just choke a bit and shake their heads, I'll plop them in a brooder and crank the heat up a bit more and watch them for several days for potential signs.

Happiness is having a shop-vac for a regular vacuum, feeling nutriberries between the toes in the mornings, & the occasional sip of hand-feeding formula when you mistake it for morning coffee. Ahh life!
