Talking This seems impossible if I hadn't seen it..

Ziva played Peek A Boo with me! I'm sure she didn't know 'what' the game was... she was being very flirty with me tonight. (Probably a result of jealousy because I was playing with Rayne and Rico earlier) She was laughing and then doing the loud *sigh* after the laugh (which was new... and we were laughing like crazy over) There is a rather bulky toy in one front corner. She moved down the perch clicking at me with her head tilted to the side until she was standing behind it and I couldn't see her. So I called to her. She said "Wooo!" like she does when she's flirty. So I called to her "Ziva, where are you? Where did you go? Ziiivvaaa..." and she popped her head out just enough so I could see her eye. So I of course said "Peek A Boo!" and she quickly popped her head back where I couldn't see her and squealed!

We went back and forth with this for about 5-10 minutes. The more we played, the more coy she got. She came out for awhile. I thought she was done. However... as we were getting ready to get Papi down for bed and cover the boys, she headed back down the perch giving me the tilted head stare again.... until she was once again completely behind the toy. She waited until I called for her... and quickly popped her head out waiting for me to say the Peek A Boo! I couldn't believe it!! I've never played this game with her... she's never 'hidden' from me before!

I'm wondering if this is because it's coming into grey mating time or what. She's still no more 'hands on' than she was, but she's more and more interactive, and trying to 'feed' me every day! My wife was as amazed as I was over all this. She's really incredible! "Smart" just doesn't seem to cover it. She either says or does something new nearly every day. Playing a game like this isn't something I'd expected of her, though!

awww! Cute, I tried playing peek a boo with Rocky the other day and he kept looking at me like get away crazy lady!! It's amazing to see how far she has come, even if you still can't touch her a whole lot, she seems to be so much more social!!! Isn't it amazing what good care will do for a bird, she probably never had that in her life before you! :)

That is so cool, she so smart.

we play a sort of peekaboo with Abbey. When we are in the shower she likes to be on my head. She will lean far down to look into my eyes. I will say peak a boo... I don't think she gets it but she thinks it is funny.

You should get those learning games, I keep looking at them but I think we need more training before we get there.

I played this with Zoey, covering my head and then popping out and saying "peek-a-boo"! About the second time we played she would start putting her head under the covers with me and then fluffed up real big when I popped out and saying "peek-a-boo!" for me! Lol- I called my mom at 11 at night to tell her what a smart grandchild she had. Sadly I didn't get the enthused reaction I was hoping for Mostly like "That's nice but unless someone died don't call me this late...ever...") But I still think Zoey is my gifted child. I was so proud! So I can relate! Just don't expect non-bird people to be impressed. Like their kids could pick up a word at 8 months and the second time hearing it!
