Question Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, My Name Is Carrie. I Have 2 Peach Faced Love Birds! They Are On There 2nd Clutch! The First One They Had 5 Eggs, One Hatched! The 2nd One, They Had 6 Eggs And 3 Hatched, Only One Has Survived! But Now It Is 24 Days Old And They Are Plucking At It. They Have It Bleeding On The Neck Under The Beak! I Know I Can Take A Parent Out But I Am Not Sure Which One To Take Out! I Would Take Out The Baby But I Don't Have Anyway Of Keep It Warm! Please Give Me Some Suggestion On What To Do! I Am Not An Actual Breeder! I Am Only Doing This Because I Have A Freind Who Wants One And I Love To Let Me Birds Raise Them! They Are Gorgous Birds! Do You Think They Are Tring To Hurt It? I Have Alot Of Questions! I Could Stay On Here All Day And Write A Book Of Just The Questions I Have! But I Won't! But Please Give Me Some Suggestions!

I wish I knew some advice to give... if it were me I would remove the baby and handraise but I have lots of experience in raising bubs. Is there an experienced breeder nearby you could call to help you? Maybe even take the baby and raise it for you?

Sometimes parents sense that the baby bird is unhealthy and pluck it or attack it, or your parent birds may just be young and inexperienced?

Someone else will be along soon to help, good luck!

How old are the parents?

They may just be a bad pair and may be better to now allow to breed, however sometimes it may also take them a while before they get things right... but after 4 or so clutches and chicks are still dying or being injured by the parents then you need to separate the pair.

Can you give us more information? What size cage? What do they eat? What toys? Perches? Nest/Nestbox? Nesting Material? Do you have any pictures?

Take one parent out at a time to see who is plucking it. I had to remove my female tiel as she was doing the same. Daddy did well feeding him and taking care of him. Just feed him extra goodies to make up for him having to feed for two.
let us know.

Unhappy

Hello It Is Me Again! Well We Tried To Catch The Mama Bird Last Night And We Couldn't Catch Her! Our Nest Box Is 8x8x8! And Our Cage Is 20x12x12! I Have Put Toys In The Cage But They Don't Play Much! The baby is about 29 days old now! It has no feathers on the back of it's head and down around the neck and down it's back! It has almost all it's wing feathers and tail feathers! My mama and papa bird are about 1 yr and 4 mo. old. They eat Lovebird food because they won't eat anything else! I tried dried fruit, eggs, broccoli and cauliflower and the male just dumps it! Once this baby is done how do I keep them from tring to nest again? Can I just take out the nesting box? I really didn't want to become a breeder! My friend gave the set of birds to my 5 year old girl for a birthday gift last year! She told me I could raise her up one and she would take it! Well she didn't take the first one, my mom has it! Now she says she is gonna take this one, but we will see! But now I am just tring to keep this one alive! THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL OF YOU HELP!!!!!!

yes, take the nest box out. They are kinda young to be breeding.
Babies will get feathers on their wings and tails prior to the rest of it, tho, the larger crest feathers also come in earlier.
give them frozen veggie mix. peas, carrots, corn green beans. Avoid the lima beans unless you cook them a while. Try pastas too.
alot of birds dont like broccoli or califlower. Try fresh apples, bananas etc.
your gunna have to keep trying to catch mom, because its not going to stop unless the one doing it is removed.
you dont want to look in one day to see an over zelaous parront who preened to much and nipped off the toes of the baby.
