Long Island Parrot Society Annual Show

Each Year, Long Island Parrot Society hosts thier annual show.
I have attended every year, with the Exception of 2.

I am getting a gang together to carpool into the event this year. Anyone interested please pm me about where and when to meet up.
Its October 7th in Freeport, Long Island.
This show can boast about being the best bird club show on the east coast.
They have a HUGE vendor room with everything from Bird Talk magazine, clothing, air purification systems, to commisioned paintings of your parrots.
It is an all day event, usually followed by dinner with a bunch of the vendors.
Being in the bird world for so long, I know many of the vendors, and I often forget to shop because of I'm too busy mingling.
The donations for the raffles are fantastic.

This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for bird people to get out and meet others that share your passion. There is an actually "Bird Show" that takes place and lots of different species are represented. Lectures go all day.

The Reason I am pushing the event this year, is beause Dr Branson Ritchie will be there to talk about PDD. This is the first time he has been in the Long Island Area. LIPS is very proud to host him.

Everyone hears me remind people about the IMPORTANCE of Bird Clubs and how they can help educate the public and the great things they can accomplish TOGETHER. This show is an outstanding representation of what we can do as individuals when we choose to join a group with similar interests.

We hope to see you there as well as at Bird Paradise in Burlington NJ, On October 21, 2006, for a whole different set of Speakers/Behavorists/and Avian Vets!

The internet is a wonderful tool to have at our fingertips, but its just as important to get out there and meet in person, the people that are there to help us in our own communities.

I'd love to go but Saturdays are tough getting away from the store - especially since it is only a few weeks prior to the Parrot Palooza. Let me see what I can do. Would love to see Dr. Ritchie again. Keep reminding me!! How long of a drive is it, Lisa?

I cannot see both of us being gone on a Saturday - but I would LOVE to be able to sit and listen to Dr. Ritchie!! Although I have to say when he was at the store, we were able to get in some late evening one-on-one sessions with him (Friday and Saturday evening) since he stayed at Kathy's house. It was great! I learned so much from him. He's a wealth of information - so anyone who reads this should really think about going. He's very easy to talk to and very knowledgeable!
