SW Virginia - Parrot Behavior and Trick Training
SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA BIRD CLUB
September 18, 2008
Dear SWVBC Member:
As you know, we are co-hosting a Phoenix Landing Seminar on Parrot Behavior and Trick Training on October 5 (a Sunday) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Seminar will be held at Huntington Court Methodist Church on Williamson Road (the same place we hold our regular meetings). Admission is free, and you can bring your bird for hands-on training if you call me in advance and your bird has been vetted within the past 12 months and doesn’t have any symptoms indicating possible illness. There is no cost for bringing your bird.
I urge all of you who can attend to do so, and invite anybody else who might be interested in parrots. Phoenix Landing will also have information about adopting or fostering a parrot, and there will be at least some birds present who are available for adoption. Phoenix Landing is also bringing bird-related items for sale. Light refreshments will be provided by our Club.
This is two hours on a Sunday afternoon that will be of interest to anyone owning parrots or thinking about acquiring a parrot, or anybody who just likes parrots and wants to know more about them. Children who are old enough to sit quietly are welcome. What child would not like to see a parrot–especially one who talks? The bird, that is–we assume the child can talk.
An ad for the Seminar will start running this weekend. You can also visit the SWVBC website (SWVBC.org) for further information.
I hope you will support our Club and Phoenix Landing by attending the Seminar and by bringing other “parrot people.”
