I'm hoping to go but it depends on whether or not a previous engagement is Sat or Sun. I'm hoping it's Sat. I really want to go.
If I can't go, just pick up one of everything for me, lmao.

I'm thinking about it. It's 3.5 hours away, though. I have a cousin who lives in Columbus, so I was figuring we'd go out and spend the weekend with her, but turns out, she's going to be in town here this weekend instead!

My wife is encouraging me to make the drive out, just to see what everything is. I've only ever been to the Youngstown bird show, which is really small, and she's never been to a bird show. We're both curious just to see what everything is out there. And of course, it wouldn't be a bad place to look for toys, cages, etc. . .

I have to say, though, I am scared about going because of how much I hear about diseases being passed around at bird shows. Anything I brought home would go straight to the bathtub for a scrub in Nolvasan, and even dry goods would be kept "quarantined" for quite some time.

Those of you who have been there before- Do you think it's worth a 3.5 hour drive to make it to the Columbus show?

Thanks!

This isnt the willy nilly little show. This is a pretty good show. Ive driven two hours to Medina and I guess it just depends on the weather and if Im bored. I might. I would to pick up my stand from Chuck cause it would be cheaper than shipping and he has a stand I ordered. It is way better than the smaller Youngstown show. You know Medinas is the same day and its a good one and that is closer to you

That's only 7 hours away, good thing we're broke or we'd go and come back with 15 birds!

I did see Medina is the same day and closer. . . But Medina is a little over 2 hours for me. If it's worth it, I'm willing to drive the extra hour and a half to go to Columbus, instead of settling for less if I'm not as likely to see much in Medina. Basically, I don't want to drive 2+ hours and be disappointed, if an hour more would have made it worth it.

The part that's bothering me is I'm really not looking for anything. I hate to drive either distance with the economy being what it is. I'd pick up some toys & such if I found stuff, but the only real purpose in going is to just see things. I'm hoping to see some more birds in person, because around here, the selection of birds is pretty slim. I've never seen any mutation of green cheek conure in person except my yellow-sided, so I'm hoping to see a couple different mutations of those. I'm really hoping to see a turquoise specifically in person, because from the pictures, I really like them, and my wife isn't too keen on them. I'm hoping she'll see one in person, and decide they're prettier than she thought.
I'd really like her to meet a Quaker parrot in person, also. I LOVE Quakers, and would love to have one someday, but she doesn't like those at all. I'll admit their colors don't compare with GCCs, but I've met a few that were just absolute dolls. And with how bright they are, I think they're aptly named the poor man's grey. It's appropriate in my situation, anyway. . .

wel ther is always Blue or Yellow Quakers?! The Medina show is a pretty good one - I always seem to come back from that one with a large cage of sorts. AWW what else you gonna do on a crappy rainy sleety maybe snowy yucky sUNDAY?????????????? Medina might be smaller due to the MEABS show in Columbus which draws vendors. There is guest speakers and the cockatoo that does a trick show PLus If your bord with the birdies you can go to the Antique and modern gun show right there as well and I thing the home and garden show too??
