My Kids with the Bird Guy!

We went to Old Town Alexandria today and the bird guy was there and my kids wanted to hold some parrots! My son was very exited and wanted to hold the big macaws but he also held a senegal and white capped pionus. My daughter was a little timid and held the small sun conure but got upset when in pooped on her Aeropastel shirt...Heres some pics!

How awesome! I wish I could have been introduced to birds when I was younger. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely pics! I'm stationed in DC and my wife and I go to Old Towne frequently. Do you know how often that gentlemen comes around?

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but we saw this rescue last month and I was very impressed with what they are doing for these birds. The name of the group is The Wilson Parrot Foundation in case anyone wants to check them out!

I think you all should check out this foundation before thinking one way or the other.

Here is why: he bangs on the cage of a blind cockatoo to get her to shut up... and feeds his birds coke out of a can and chain smokes around them all day.

Please be aware and informed about what you are supporting.

It's a shame to hear! I was hoping that this was a great foundation, but after reading that I definitely feel different. Thanks for the information.
