Kakapo Chicks on Display this weekend
Hey guys if you're in NZ this coming weekend (23rd May), then come down to Invercargill to view the Kakapo chicks. Basically they're the rarest parrots in the world and are flightless. Their population has only just passed 100 due to the huge amount of effort put into them by the Department of Conservation for many years. This is pretty much a once in a lifetime chance to get to see them - normally you would have to have access to their quantinne island (not easy!). Three chicks are on display in the morning and two in the afternoon. Chicks are Ra (71 days), Pohuwai (67 days) and Rakiura (74 days).
Viewing is between 10am and 4pm at the Invercargill Working Mans Club. Get there early - there will be a huge line.
