I don't actually feed Mazuri, can't find it here, but I do know from visiting the Peafowl Talk MB that Mazuri is highly recomended and used extensively in Zoos, Sanctuaries, and Captive bird programs. They make several lines of feed for exoctic animals. I think it would probably be a healthy product to use.

mazuri is one of the top brands in the country. every zoo and wildlife park uses mazuri for at least half, if not most, of their animals, including thousands of diff birds. i know mazuri make the BEST low-iron diets for softbills :)

I know a breeder, she uses mazuri for her birds..they are so healthy and beautiful. I have a YN female from her, and have helped her place 17 parrots in good homes..they have been raised with mazuri..and she highly recomends it.

I feed mine mazuri and zupreme fruit pellets...fruits, veggies..seed, and more.

Smile Mazuri

Someone gave me a case of Mazuri. I know the zoos use that brand.

NONE of my birds would touch them, except for one of my greys. He went thru the whole case. Took him quite a while! They are hard, round pellets, kind of like monkeychow. My birds prefer Avi-Sci/Dr D's. They crumble and the birds can chomp into the pellets easier. I get them from Michigan direct. I can give you the 800 number if you are interested.

I feed my toucanet the Mazuri pellet, and for toucans it is definitely the best pellet. I don't know about their parrot stuff though.

My cockatiels really like the Mazuri I get for my toucanet, in fact I discovered my mostly very picky 'tiels would eat pellets when a few of them got a hold of food the toucanet had dropped (getting most of my 'tiels to eat anything but seed and the occasional lettuce and parsley has been an on going challenge for me, it's just finally now that I've found ways of getting them not to avoid most of what they are offered).

The Mazuri pellet I have isn't formulated for parrots though, it's much lower iron than necessary for them, and may be higher in protein than they need (though I'm not quite sure about that), so I just let my tiels have some once in a while as a treat. I give my 'tiels roudbush pellets (they have a low fat one that I've found has really helped my one overweight 'tiel lose weight, but have not led to my other ones being underweight), but they still like the Mazuri better.
