We had a popcorn scare two years ago, Blue Crown Conure got kernel shell logged in her throat. Be careful, when I give my fids popcorn, I make sure its just the fluffy part.

Birds are lactose intolerant? do you have any links for that, i would love to read more information about that. The reason why i ask is, my tiel loves popcorn (movie theatre flavor, just about 5 pieces). But every time i make strawberry or banana flavored milk, or when he gets to close to my bowl of cereal, he'll start drinking my milk, and never had a problem.

Here is a link for you shadowhywind.

Birds should not be fed Several things including milk unless given very small amounts. I just don't do it at all.

Why give them something that can give them diarrhea they already poop enough.

I'm pretty sure that the "butter" on most popcorn is just flavored oil, and not actual butter, therefore no lactose (does real butter even contain lactose?)

Air popper - No Oil. No Butter. AND That artificial Butter flavor stuff on micro pop corn is nasty stuff. NOT good for people either. Air popper cheap now, under $20. We mix pop corn in all our Large bird mixes.

I agree... no extra butter/oil or salt. You can buy it popped from pet store- it's Lafabers brand, enriched with vitamins and everything! We keep it around just to give it to Wawa when we are eating ours. He thinks it's all the same.

I use an air popper as well. There's no addititves, oils, butter, or salt.
