So many choices!

I have my first Quaker and have been researching a diet for him. There are sooooo many choices of "homemade" foods. Birdiebread and muffins and sprouts and mashes! Are these things in addition to a good pellet diet or is a combination of these things (and others) instead of a pellet diet? I am soooo confused!

My babies love thier birdy bread. Since I can't get Morgan to actually eat veggies, I put them all in the birdy bread, carrots, broccoli, squash, sometimes sweet potatoes. Since I'm also having trouble getting her to eat pellets, the vet suggested I crush them and add to the bread, which I'm now doing.
The vet and I decided with all the great stuff I put in the bread, that the cornbread part is ok.

It depends on you. Most people nowadays recommend a 'base' of pellets, then all the other stuff you are reading about as an extension from that 'base'.

For a base I feed a mix of pellets/dried fruits & veggies/seed/herbs and then everyday the birds get fresh foods, be it birdie muffins or some of what I am having for dinner (as long as its bird safe), etc.
