picky parrotlet
Hi all,
I posted this in the Parrotlet forum already, so sorry if anybody reads it twice :(
Peanut (my parrotlet) has decided to begin her "terrible 2s" with a picky eating phase... for over a month now, she refuses to eat any seeds from her mix except the little tiny millet seeds. She'll bury her head in her dish to find them under the surface, and when she gets really desperate she'll climb in there and start forcing them out of the dish all over the floor to get to the bottom. I've tried just leaving the remnants in there (plenty of good seeds, dried fruit, other great stuff in the mix!) past depletion of the millet, but if she looks around and can't find any, she just refuses to eat and goes to her pellet instead.
I guess I'm not certain that this is unhealthy, but I can't imagine they'd put all the other stuff in the seed mix if it wasn't good to eat... any ideas about how to get her off this pattern? Thanks :)
