Aloe Juice

When adding aloe juice to your birds water, what is the proper ratio?

I also notice they make flavored aloe juice now, would you feed that to your birds?

Land of Vos - Wingtips Articles - Aloe for Birdkeepers

This is what I found. You can buy George's Aloe Spray by Warren Laboratories at health food stores. Or buy additive free steamed distilled aloe juice (not gel) and an inexpensive spray bottle. Does not require dilution and will last for months.

To increase energy level of lethargic birds: 1 part aloe juice to 3 parts water for drinking.

I was recently told to get the Gel and mix it with water for bathing or misting. It is thick though, I did it in food cups. Was told to use 10 Tablespoons of water to 2 Tablespoons of Gel, but I want the gel to last a while, so I did about 2 ounces of water to 1/2 teaspoon of gel and the birds bathed in it.

From the Kitchen Physician V, Herbal remedies for parrots by Carolyn Swicegood, at birdsnways.com. Aloe aids in digestion and boosting the immune system. Also used for small cuts, abraisions and rashes on parrot's skin. It dries and heals the injury.

Thanks!

My son and daughter in law rescued a cockatoo and he hates to be misted. They have to find something to help him because he is naked . I havent had a chance to see him to evaluate him yet but I will when I take my trip to Virginia in a week or so.

This leads me to my next questions. We will be visiting not staying with my son but what are the chance I could bring an illness back home to my birds? I have no evidence their bird is ill but there is something that is causing him to pluck and it has not been determined.

Anybody know of a good avian vet in the Yale Virginia area?
