Sprout question

I know I know this answer but at the moment it is evading me.

Beans are bad uncooked. No question there.

Several sprout mixes I bought have beans in it. At what point do sprouted beans become non-toxic to birds? I mean do the sprouts have to be a certain size for them to be safe?

I've heard that lentils are OK with 1/4 inch tails and mung beans with 1/2 inch tails.
