Kermit Weaned... Almost.

So, I have had Kermit for two and a half weeks now. I will be eleven weeks old tomorrow. I got him from the breeder when he was still on two feedings a day. (I had been in every day since he was hatched to feed him myself.) Okay, so he has not been very interested in the formula. I have seen him eat a ton and drink his water. He is actually eating more often than I thought he would.

So, my question... I have not really seen him eat any of the pellets, he is always cracking seed. The mixture I have for him is about 1/4 seed and 3/4 pellet mix. He spends most of his time digging to the bottom for seeds. I have read that if your birds feces is green, then there is too much seed in their diet. Kermit's dropping are fairly greener than they should be.

Ok, soooo should I not let him have any seed until he learns to eat the pellets, or will he eventually come around? I really want him to be on a well balanced diet, not just seeds.

Ok, any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

My mitred eats a lot of pellets, and his droppings range from the tan colored of the pellets to green. So long as Kermit is keeping up a good weigh I wouldn't worry too much about what he's eating.... but you might want to try a smaller pellet?
