Spray Millet

Is there a difference between the spray millet that are red and the one that look more light yellow to white? Is one more preferred over the other and why if so?

I haven't noticed a preference in my birds, but here is a general breakdown on the two that Foster & Smith sells. The choice, it seems, would depend on how much protein and fiber your bird needs.

Red Millet
Crude Protein 8.0% min
Crude Fat 3.0% min
Crude Fiber 3.0% max
Moisture 12.0% max

White Proso Millet
Crude Protein 11.0% min
Crude Fat 3.0% min
Crude Fiber 7.0% max
Moisture 12.0% max

I was told at one time that the red was designed to put on weight. I have never seen the nutritional facts above.... The red is always more expensive here and not always available.
