Question ideas on weight gaining

my u2 needs to gain weight my vet said to give harrisons power treats no luck so i was seeing if there was anything i can do to make him gain some weight! oh yeah the trick is he only eats pellets and ritz so is there something to pour over pellets that could make him gain weight?? thanks in advance

Your best bet is to ask your vet for advice since he knows more about your situation than we do. Will the bird eat nuts and high-calorie seeds like sunflower? Those contain a lot of fat so they're good for adding calories. Oil is loaded with calories so adding a little red palm oil to the diet might be helpful.

he will eat them whole and then throw them up for me i have a vet apt for him (cuz of the throwing up the whole sunflower seeds but the vet and i both dont really know much about him as i only adopted him a couple months ago thats why i wanted to know if anyone know of anything to put in their food

Does the throwing up seem like intentional regurgitation (a sign of affection for many parrots) or does it seem like uncontrolled vomiting? If it's vomiting then something is wrong, and you REALLY need to get the vet's diagnosis and advice. If it's regurgitation then you can try to reduce your bird's amorousness, but I'm not qualified to give cockatoo advice and you'll need to wait for someone who knows more about them.

i think its regur. cuz he only does it around me but i have also been telling him no nasty and he has not done it for a while!!

try peanut butter or nuts. Almonds are also fattening
