What do you do....

Do you ever freeze any of your leftovers, to use another day. I have a measurment problem. LOL I always seem to make more than my two can eat. It is hard for me to judge how much they will eat. I cut up veggies and fruit every morning and fill two bowls and put in their cages. I always have at least enough for one more bowl . Depending on how many different items I cut up. I hate to throw it away and they usually eat what we eat for dinner. I guess my question is Can you cut up say a weeks worth of veggies and fruit and freeze the extra for the rest of the week.
Also can bird have Eggplant, I have not seen anything about others feeding eggplant. So is it safe?
TIA

Yes, you can freeze the food. I make anywhere from 4-6 weeks worth at a time. I put enough for a day in a baggie, then put the baggies in bigger freezer bags. Each day I either take a bag from the freezer to the refrigerator for the next day or if I forget I nuke it on low for a couple minutes.

Once you've cut up the food and it's been sitting out you can't refreeze it for another day. But if you make food in advance and freeze it right away for another day that is fine. I usually cut up fresh veggies/fruit daily, but I have a grain and bean mixture as well as birdy bread that I freeze in single day portions so I have a few weeks supply on hand and don't have to cook everyday.
