Quaker Diet

I recently acquired a quaker and I have some questions. The lady told me he was 6 weeks old and he's currently eating "baby bird food" and cheerios along with millet. How do you know when to start feeding them regular bird food and what type is the best to buy?

I have owned conures, lovebirds and macaws in the past. I know they can be given fruits, veggies, pasta, etc.... Is it the same for a quaker?

Thanks for any help!!
