Lafeber's Avi-Cakes, Yes or No?

I got some samples from my avian vet's office and it's now become one of my Grey's favorite foods.

I'll probably add them to his permanent diet, but I wondered what other people think about this food. While it's mostly seed, it also has vitamin/mineral supplements, molasses, gelatin, glycerine, and whole egg. It also has salt and sugar.

Any thoughts?

Salt? Sugar? Are you sure those aren't Little Debbie cakes? I think stuff like that is fine as long as you feed it as a treat. They are kind of big so I'd watch that your bird doesn't pig out on those and leave his healthier food sit.

Yup, salt and sugar. Maybe Little Debbie, Twinkies, and Avi-Cakes are made by the same company. I only give Hansel 1/2 an avi-cake and, while he eats it first, by no means is it all he eats.
