Scented candles

I was reading in another forum that scented candles are a danger to birds. I had no idea that they were dangerous. Could someone tell me what happens to them when they are exposed. Thank You

From what I've read, a bird's respitory system can't handle the scents, smoke, etc. Also, some candle wicks have lead in them which is released in the air when burned. Theres also the obvious potential for the bird to get burned if able to get to the candle somehow. I've also read that its okay to burn candles in rooms that the bird is not in, but I would still be wary.

If you look in the first blue bar at the top of the page, there is a search area. If you put candles in there, you will see 82 different posts on candles and all different opinions. ...happy reading
