Question about Wood burning stove?

Greetings,

I have 2 Red Bellied Parrots and we are thinking of getting a wood burning stove. Is it safe or would it harm the birds?

We have a woodstove that we use a LOT in the winter to heat. I have had my tiel in our house for 4 years(he is 14) and he has been fine. The only thing that I would worry about is it getting too dry in the house. You must have a pot of water on top of the stove for moisture at all times. Another thing that I would worry about it if the logs are wet and it smokes into the room.

I think it depends on what type of wood you're burning and if it's been treated. Personally, I would not use a wood-burning stove or a fireplace around my birds. I have both in my house and have never used either.
