my conures tail feathers

My Jenday conure got his tail feathers stuck in the couch and tried to fly away and pulled them out. there was no blood but you can tell he is really sore in that area. Is there anything we need to do with this or will he just grow them back?

My dog pulled out 2 tail feathers on my gcc the other day. I was told by the receptionist at the vets office that they should grow back. It may take awhile though.

ya thats what the vet told me after I talked to her. He lost about 7-8 feathers and only has one that he was just starting to grow in. Does anyone know if there is anything I need to watch out for as they grow in?

Other than maybe your jenday falling or bumping into things that could break his new tail feathers, no. The feathers will grow in quickly enough! He just had a "fight or flight" response, and the flight response equals to loosing whatever feathers may be "caught" by a predator.... you may want to up his protein and vitamin A in his diet for his new tail feathers!
