Daily cage cleaning

What is safe to spray in the cage (with bird out of coarse) to help clean up the poop? Something that can be done in the house where I wont have to let it air out all day or worry about fumes in the house? Is just plain old water best?
Is peroxide safe? Maybe cut it 50/50 with water?
Thanks

You can use white vinegar safely 50/50 mix but you will need to rinse with water for the vinegar can damage the metal of the cage if not rinsed off. I use it to clean many messes made by my zoo in my house not just bird poop.

I did invest in a steamer and it works wonders! Echo's cage looks brand new when I am done with the steamer. I usually either have him on his play gym or at his toy box when I use the steamer. Echo also exactly mimicked the steamer in about 10 minutes of hearing it to. So now my steamer runs even when it's put away

Well my problem is that I can not get this cage around that easy to hose it off after so I guess I would be looking for something that I can use daily to loosen up the poop and will be bringing it outside to be hosed off every other week and there is where I would/could use the vinegar solution.

Thanks

Oh on another note, how well do Echo and Pita get along? Do they each have their own cage or do/can they share one?

Oh no you don't need to hose it off just wipe it down with a clean wet cloth.

Pita was a rescue last December and the are in different cages. They can only be near each other when supervised and I never have them together. Echo could kill Pita with one bite.

The steamer is awsome for indoor winter cleaning. Totally safe and totally clean. I just lay a towel down below where I steam to catch the few drips and poo and wipe with a cloth.

I agree. I have a steamer and it is awesome. Another thing I use for "daily" tidying are anti bacterial wipes. I have a type I buy from a direct sales company that are non toxic.

I use Oxyfresh gele concentrate mixed with water in a spray bottle. I make it fresh each day before I clean the cages. Spray it on poop and stuck on food, let sit for 10 minutes, then wipe off. It is safe and smells so clean yet has several times the bacterial killing power of chlorine bleach which you should never use because it causes thickening of the air sacs in birds. Spraying with a spray bottle doesn't have to be messy but if you feel it is too messy - just use the Oxyfresh in a small bucket of hot water and dab the dirty areas with a sponge or cloth, let sit 10 minutes then wipe clean.

You should not hose down your cage unless it is just VERY occasionally. It will cause rust.
