Had a rough experience today with a patient. Long story short, the birds suffered an open fracture to the Left humerus. Now if you picture the inside joint that meets the bulk of the body, that is where the fracture occurred. We attempted to pin it today but had difficulty. Anyone have any ideas on repair, other than amputation, which is looking more likely. And remember humeral fractures are the worst and heal horribly if left untreated, and the bird will not fly again. Looking for ideas to pin it together and really set it.

Have you searched for an avian vet in your area who could help you out?
