Lead!!!!

I just had quite a scare!
Over the weekend my GCC Carmela was sitting on some tree branches in the kitchen window that has stained glass and leading.
The branches are usually far enough away from the leading that she cannot get near it but on Friday the branches were too close for some reason and Carmela was busy biting the lead!!!!!! I broke out in a cold sweat
and called our Avian vet who told me to bring her in. Poor Carmela tied to bite her way out of the bird carrier when we went in for X rays. I just love the picture of the little birdie skeleton!
Anyway, she is fine. No lead showed up in her body!!! Yeahhhhh!!!!! What a relief.
I immediately made my husband put a sheet of glass over the stained glass window. I don't want to go through something like this ever again.

Lucky!! I spent over $800 and 1 month of medicine to get matches through her metal poisoning. That was excluding xrays cos i work at an xray place and they did them for me for free. I'm glad she is ok, i would never wish it on anyone, and i caught it early so it wasnt as bad as it could have been. Yay for carmela!

oh, how lucky! What did Matches get into to get metal poisoning? I am glad she is okay.
Carmelas' doctor vidsit and x ray were a bargain then, at "only" $100.00
