Moth Ball Smell Dangerous?

Hi, I have to move into a camper for the summer soon but it smells of moth balls. All the moth balls were cleared out of it 3 weeks ago, but the smell is still there. Does anyone know how long that lasts for and if it is still an unsafe environment to bring my bird (GCC) into? Thanks

Yes it is unsafe - even for us. You need to air it out for weeks. I would try cleaning everything with a weak vinager wash. Leave all the windows open day and night if possible. Turns out they are finding moth balls are harming people esp the elderly who use them allot. Messing with brain function and breathing. If you can clean the carpets - do so.

Good suggestions above...
I would also add that placing good carbon filters and activated charcoal around to absorb some of the toxins and maybe some baking soda as well.
Please don't take any chances with your baby. Sometimes, what seems like nothing to us can do much damage to little air sacs.

You can find activated Charcoal where they sell air purifiers and filters, water filters OR in the fish department of the pet store near the filtration systems or even whever they sell pond filtration systems. Open some large boxes of Baking soda as well.
