Angry Disgusted!

Today I went to a certain pet store. I walked in, noticing the fine merchandise like toys for birds and other animals-seems great right? When I noticed the birds, I was so saddened. This store has parrots that have been rescued which are not for sale. However, I was watching a young girl scream at the parrot. She was upset because he wasn't talking. The mother & even the pet store owner did absolutely nothing about it! I could not believe it. After this, I decided I better check up on the other birds. (Tiels and budgies) I did, and guess what? No toys whatsoever. I know that they sell these birds quickly, however that is no excuse for them to not give them a stimulating environment. Food and water and 2 wooden perches were the only things in their cage. I just hate seeing a bird cooped up in its cage, a bird with a lot of potential and absolutely no toys or friends. It angers me...

Yeah that kind of stuff is quite common in large chain petstores especially. I have very limited visits to them because of this, just leads to me getting upset each and every time I go.

You are totally right to be pissed.....Some stores don't give a crap and it's very sad. I went into the petsmart here a couple of days ago and their birds have great viewing cages with lots of toys!!! One little lovie had two rip up toys, a swing and perches of different sizes....it was great to see! There really is no excuse for not starting them off on the right foot...it also gives potential purchasers a chance to see the few things our feathered friends will need.
And it would be easier for the store owner to SELL these toys to customers if they are already in the cages. IE: birds need lots of toys and stimulation, so here is our toy section!!!

Someone should have duct taped the child's mouth until she learned manners, since her parent doesn't seem to teach her any. That makes me mad, total lack of responsibility in parents. Makes you want to cage the parent and scream in her face for a while until she gets it.
