I use Method brand from Target and rinse it off good just in case. Only do whole cage once a month so no biggie. Grill and tray are another matter. I use newsprint with a 1/2 to 1 inch layer of walnut shell which I scoop daily, twice daily in summer (I HATE fruitflies!). Use the kitty scoop to scrape the grill. My cage is a good 4.75 feet high inside demention and has shelves, so they rarely are on floor. The grill and tray I do in tub each weekend with the Method and rinse.

No, I do NOT own stock in this company. But for those who wanna know:

For those times and places you HAVE to use a cleaner of some sort, try Method products from Target or their website: method : support : faq
A quick blurb:

The Method difference

Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan are proud brainparents of Method and the very first people against dirty. And by “dirty” they don’t just mean the stuff dust bunnies are made of. Method isn’t about just cleaning up your home; it’s about cleaning up the way you clean.

Does your home have a chemical dependency?

You may not know it, but if you’re using typical household cleaners, you could be messing around with dangerous toxic chemicals. Chemicals that aren’t just bad for your home, but for you and your family as well. In fact, if your walls could talk, you’d probably wash their mouths out with soap. But good, clean soap, like method. That’s because method is non-toxic, made with natural ingredients that clean like heck and smell like heaven.

Why non-toxic?

You may not know what your tile tastes like, but your kid does. If you ask the inventors of method, things like sodium hypochlorite and your private parts shouldn’t be in the same sentence together, let alone in the same tub. Yet most people don’t think twice about stewing their delicates in not-so-sparkling waters. The people behind method believe cleaners should be safe for your bare hands and your bare bottom, so method’s non-toxic bathroom cleaners contain the skin-friendliest, naturally derived ingredients. Because it’s not a tub without U in it.

Inspiring a healthy home revolution

Method’s mission is to inspire a happy, healthy home revolution. They do that by creating products that mix style and substance that is great for your home and smells good too.

Anyone using Oxine? My breeder gives it to me and says to use it on all bird related cleaning. I use it currently to clean all of the hand feeding equipment but haven't used it on the cage yet. It's not that expensive at about $25.00 a gallon plus shipping. Just thought I would add to the thread.
