Question Any way to remove rust from cage?

So, this goes along with my last post about my old cage... The cage itself and stand are both rusty. Is there any safe way to remove the rust? Is it safe or worth the money to have a cage(its a good sized conure cage with pretty thick bars) sand blasted and powder coated? Is there another ulternative to salvage the cage?? Thanks for any help.

you can have it professionally coated - probably not worth it though but check it out. none of the other stuff is bird safe.

Sounds like it would be a lot cheaper to get a new cage, honestly.
