one year white eye conure has spastic paralysis????

Hello!
Our one year old white eye conure has fallen in some kind of paralysis. What happened is, last week we found him at the bottom of his cage with his toes all turned in front. There was no warning prior to this, it was so sudden!!!
Heavy metal toxicosis and/or any kind of blow, accident or injury were ruled out by the avian veterinarian. He suggested Parrot legs' spastic paralysis.
Has any of you ever had that problem and if yes, how did you treat your birds?
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure, I just wish you the best of luck with this bird and hope everything goes well. Did the vet list any other possible causes or treatments? The only thing I know that can cause this is heavy metal poisoning. I take it he did x-rays to see if there was any spinal etc damage?
I found this article on the internet:
Articles - The Avicultural Society of South Australia
From reading that article it would seem to be diet related.

It's great to hear that!!!! My cherry headed conure is currently on meds - since I switched avian vets yesterday. The new a-vet caught an infection that the previous one did not, and I'm already seeing results! So I'm quite happy myself! My conure is much older than yours, and she's always had grip issues but other than not being able to fly, she's not handicapped.

I hope to hear of Chico fully recovered soon!!!! And would love to see pics of the handsome boy!

Awww!!!! He looks like such a baby, too!!!! Both my conures were 9+ years old when I got them so I never got to see them as "babies." Chico is just flat out adorable!!!!
