Kitchen cleaner?

I am bringing home my parrot mid Sept. and need some alternative cleaners, and pot/pan ideas.

We usually use a kitchen cleaner with bleach in it, and we have non-stick cookware that we will need to replace.

The cage is set up in the kitchen, so please give me a list of things I should look out for, last time I had a parrot he was in an upstairs bedroom with the door closed, so I'm not sure about all of the dangers.

Are there any precautions with using an oven? We also have a deep fryer and was reading something about those being dangerous.

Thanks.

Also, are swiffers bad? I know it leaves the kitchen with a "scent"

AND my boyfriend uses a Rosin core solder to tinker with things, is that bad? He uses it in the kitchen pretty close to the cage.

I am also thinking about buying a "sleep cage" and putting it in my bedroom, could I just put him in there and close the door while we clean the kitchen, burn candles, solder, use a deep fryer/oven or anything else bad?

I'm thinking I could put him in there with a towel under the door, and all windows open in the kitchen until the smells are gone,

if you think this is a good idea, how long would you wait until bringing the bird back into the kitchen?

I use all natural cleaners in the kitchen I know alot of peeps use vinagear but i hate the smell of it. If you look at the store and read the labels there are some good green cleaners if used in moderation to wipe counters I also am a big fan of method brand cleaner from target. I would not leave bird in kitchen if cooking or using a deepfryer I dont even risk it. Also i invested in a large airpurfiyer. I loved to burn candles and plugins and i dont even risk them sydney sneezes if she gets a wiff of anything strong. Sometimes the pet stores even have petsafe cleaners. As far as cleaning the floor in kitchen i bought a bissel steam mop no more chemicals. I dont even let the bird in the kitchen when i cook. as far as oven cleaner just have to use heavy scrubbing i dont use any cleaner incase it lets off fumes when i turn it on. If you read up on some nautral home cleaning remides it would be safe but if your going to cook and fry food id move the bird to another location better safe then sorry one time an acident may occur and youll be paying for it im so cautious now but in a way its better way of life less polluted at my house and my home does actually smell fresher then when i was using all those heavy polleted chemical cleaners.

Okay how long do you think he should be removed? We will have a cage in the bedroom, one outside, and a playstand in the livingroom(which is still too close to the kitchen)

We are planning on moving in a year. House is so small, unfortunately the kitchen is the only place for his main cage right now, as we have 4 dogs crates in one bedroom, a gross cat room that I don't even go in, and a small bedroom, and almost no room in the livingroom!

My biggest concern, since we are replacing all cookware and cleaners, is the solder that my boyfriend used to put things together, his hobby is rC cars and theres really nowhere else he can do it, he uses the kitchen for everything RC, and I know the stuff he uses has lead in it. And that burns.

Since he is letting me get the bird in the first place, I can't exactly tell him to move, since we have to accommodate so much already, but I can have him open all doors and windows, and move TIki into the bedroom until the room is clear,
how long is safe?

I am looking at it this way if i feel uneasy or maybe its wrong around the bird i dont do it. If your cooking and you remove the bird plug the airpurfier in the kitchen and wait till you cant smell the cooking anymore till the air is fresh again. As far as soldering im not to sure if your worried about it maybe make him do it in another place where the bird wont be. If you move the bird into the living room on the playstand while he is soldering maybe plug the purifiyer in next to the bird or hang a sheet over the kitchen door. I know that it's hard to adapt to a bird im still doing it but you will learn its like motherly instinct it will kick in and youll just know what to do.
So if im cooking i move sydney into another room and dont bring her back until the kitchen doesnt smell like food youll know its not as hard as you think the first few weeks are a little uneasy but youll just know if something is bothering the bird youll know. good luck and dont worry!! I think owning a bird is a real treat and can be very entertaining. It's easy to move a bird to a location then to move a kitchen LOL.
