How do you clean your oven?

I fixed stuffed peppers in my oven for my dear hubby (I don't like them). The pan I had them in had a hole in it that I did not know about. Now I have a very nasty oven. How can I clean it without hurting my blue front amazon and cockatiel? I have not used the self cleaning option since they have been in the house because I did not know if that would hurt them or not. Please help because the smell is awful.

Don't ever use the self cleaning with the birds in the house! Any oven temp over 375 is harmfull fumes to the birds.

What I do is put the birds in a room with a door. Then I use the easy off spray well then close the oven door for a few minutes, then whipe it down. Then after everything is clean put down some aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven so if anything in the future drips the clean up won't be as much of a hassle

I wouldn't use those cleaners either, fumes still go through vents and AC etc. I use my shark steamer to clean mine.

SORRY ITS SO LONG!

There are several sites that give you ideas on how to clean without chemicals. Here is some info:
To Make: Mix These Ingredients:
Glass and Window Cleaner Equal parts of vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle
Scouring Powder Make a paste of baking soda and warm water

Furniture Polish The juice of one lemon, one teaspoon of olive oil, and one teaspoon of water, OR, dip a soft cloth in some cool black tea and rub onto wood furniture
Antibacterial Spray Cleaner White vinegar in a spray bottle

Air Freshener Keep open boxes or bowls of baking soda in any rooms you want to freshen, OR, simmer items like orange or lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, or cloves in a pan on the stove to freshen your home.

MAKE YOUR OWN CLEANSER (I would still have the bird in another room)
HEAVY DUTY HOMEMADE OVEN CLEANER
1t Liquid dish soap
1t Lemon juice
1-1/2t Bleach
1qt. Warm water

Mix all ingredients in cleaning bucket or bowl and apply solution (with a sponge) to the oven's cavity. Allow to sit for 45-minutes and then scrub clean. Rinse well!

GRANDMA'S TRIED AND TRUE VINEGAR RECIPE
5T Baking soda
3 drops hand soap or liquid dish soap
4T White vinegar

Mix above ingredients until they form a thick paste. Apply paste to inside of oven and scrub with sponge. Wipe clean and rinse thoroughly.

CITRUS CLEANSER
Use equal amounts of lemon juice and salt. Apply paste to stubborn stains and allow to sit for 3-5 minutes. Scrub with brush and wipe clean.

NATURAL SCRUB CLEAN OVEN SOLUTION
4T Baking soda
4T Hot, steamy water

Make a paste with the above listed ingredients and apply it to the oven's cavity using an old toothbrush or soft-bristled cleaning brush. Allow solution to sit for 1-minute. Scrub with brush until oven is clean. Rinse with water and sponge until no traces of baking soda remain.

TOUGH STAIN REMOVER
1c Salt
1c Baking soda
1c Water

Make a paste using the ingredients above and apply it to the inside of the oven. Close door and heat oven to 500-degrees for 60 minutes. Turn off oven and allow to cool. Wipe debris from oven using a moist sponge. Rinse well.

Thank you everyone. I forgot about my little steamer. I also didn't think about baking soda.
