Pellet stoves

Hello-

I just moved into a new house which has the greatest room for Lola, my YSA. It's a four season sunroom and floor to ceiling glass on three sides overlooking a pool, a river- it's great for her. But ... The room also has a pellet stove. I'm not worried about her getting burned because when unattended she's in the cage or with us in the other room. I am worried about gasses. The stove itself is a few years old and they used it heavily, the room is well ventilate because there is a small fan that blows heat from the room and heats the rest of the house. What about the pellets themselves? I met someone who heated hid bird room with a pellet stove but before I fire it up I wanted some input.
Thanks,
Moses

Pellets are made-up of waste wood products and some contain waste corn. The burning of pellets results in a particulate output that is vented outside and most (I believe this is a building code requirement - not to say your installation is to "code") have a fresh air intake to burn the pellets. The result is surprisingly clean heat in the home.

I burn wood - which offgases much more than pellets in the home since one has to open the door to the stove (resulting in small amounts of smoke escaping). I don't have a "hopper" to feed the stove pellets (resulting in very little smoke escaping).

Frankly I can't see a problem with a pellet stove and birds - especially if you have a fresh air intake. If you don't I would worry more about carbon monoxide than offgassing from the stove. Make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector in the same room.
