what about floor cleaners?

Okay so now that I have birds, I'm mopping a lot :) I've always used Mr Clean (very little) and hot water. My house is well ventilated because it is summer.

Is this a chemical combo I need to be afraid of? All of us end up with access to the fumes.

I wouldn't use any chemical cleaner around birds - that includes Mr. Clean, Pinesol, etc., etc. We have all tile floors and they are mopped with white vinegar and water, works fine and is completely non-toxic.

I agree, you should not use that around birds. They are super sensitive. And vinegar does clean well. It's also is a disinfectant.

Plain white vinegar is cheap and works real well. 1 cup per gallon.
I use baking soda as a scrub.

Oh lemon juice would work well, good tip. I love the cleaners because they smell good when you are cleaning but I don't use any small anymore. I gave up a long time ago when I got Chiquita. I sure do miss the cleaners and candles. Oh well, bird safety is #1!!!!

We use one of those cheap Shark steam mops... No chemical smell and it works wonders on bird poop...

We have hardwood and tile floors throughout most of the house and wouldn't use anything else now...

I wonder why we need houses smelling like fake lemon or fake pine... My wife and I just put a few flowers in a vase if, for some reason, we feel like we need to make the house nice smelling...

I use a steam cleaner on ours. Works great, no chemicals needed.
