Is a sterno safe to use in the same house with birds?

I have two conures and was wondering if a sterno is safe to use in the same downstairs area. The will be 2 rooms away but we have an open concept type of floor plan? Should I keep the exhaust on in the kitchen (the room between them and the dining romm)? We can't open a window because it is too cold here. Thanks! Trina

I dont know but would be wary. It is a chemical of sorts. I would at least consider keeping it UNDER the exhaust only. Did you read the warning on the can at all?
Here are a listing of all the MSDS for sterno and other info - I cannot read them on this computer (sorry)

I usually throw a few parties a year. I never used the sternos in the house. I read the can, and didnt think it would be safe. I usually set the food up in the garage, or if its nice, the deck.
