Painting

Well Gizzy my TAG has a thing about taking baths in her waterdish. However, I recently noticed that the wall behind her cage is completely ruined and covered in waterspots we can't get out from her splishing and splashing. So we're going to have to repaint that wall and tack a sheet up over it so she won't do it again.

My question is trying to figure out what to do with Gizzy and Cheeko, who's in the room across the hall.

The only really other safe area I could move the birds other than the 2 rooms upstairs is my mom's room at the very end of the hall, putting a towel under the door and keep all doors closed until the paint dries. But how long AFTER the paint has dried would it be safe to move Gizzy back into my room again?

I would take the birds to my grandma's house, however, my cousin's 2 kids she occasionally watches are absolute monsters and there's no way I'd want them near my birds. And Grandma is 84 years old and can't keep up with their every move.

My first suggestion to you instead of tacking a sheet, would be to attach a piece of acrylic sheeting to the back of the cage.
There are many good paints out on the market that are safe for birds. They have no oder. You can look back on this forum or google. I can't think of the names right off. That being said, I would wait several days to put the birds back in the room. They should be fine in another room with a closed door.
