Nearly had a heart attack!

Gosh, just goes to show you that anything can be dangerous. I have big coop cups in both my cages and never have had a problem. I usually bend the cup a little so it stays in better and is harder for them to tip out. Well, somehow, as usual, baby Phoenix was playing with his bowl. He got the cup out and was playing with the holder, and as I am watching him he got his head into the bowl holder! Now the cup is a 30 ounce cup, really big and he could get his head out easily, and even his whole body through, but he panicked. I was watching and was there in 2 seconds and got him out, but it could have easily ended very badly.

What other kind of bowls can I use for huge parrots, maybe those ceramic ones with the hood on them? For now I just have the bowls on the bottom of the cage, I am so scared now. Babies just play too much and move around so much that almost anything can be unsafe. These critters are going to kill me I swear!

That is a great cup. Im so glad you were there to save him. Birds panic and make it worse.

My mom was just being kind and made Chiquita a toy with strings. I didn’t want to make her feel bad and was hesitant in putting it in Chiquita’s cage since it had strings. Well thankfully I was there because Chiquita got her foot tangled up in the string. I got her quickly but if I was not there, there was no way she could have gotten out herself.. I got lucky but my mom felt so bad. But she was just being kind, I told her not to worry, it all worked out. But you sure have to be careful of what you put in their cages. There so playful they can easily get hurt.

I have 2 40oz cups for my CAG's cage, they ARE huge, but I find that NOW the water doubles as a bath and more of the food stays IN the cup while eating......

@ 10$ each at the local petfart.....

all in all I LOVE them!!!!
