Disinfecting the cage
My bird has been sick. He is on flagyl and bene-bac right now. The vet told me that I need to disinfect the cage, preferably with bleach. I would be using a 1-10 part (clorox-water) solution.
I was thinking cleaning the base, tray, and bars all by soaking them in the solution and then rinse, wash with dish soap, rinse, dry, rinse, and then dry again. Now I have several questions... Can I clean the wood perches/toys with the bleach solution? If so, how? Can plastic toys/food+water dishes be cleaned the same way? Would GSE give me the same disinfecting power as the bleach? Also, when would be the best time to do this? After he is done with the meds or in between and then after again? Sorry for all these questions! ![]() Thanks so much
