Lost Conure: Zazu

Hello Eveeryone,
We live in Ansonia, CT and our conure flew away on 29Sept06. I have been posting anywhere I can find, and I just came across this site. I would appreciate any information any one has, either relating to Zazu, or ideas on how to locate him. Here is the standard post:

We live We live on the Ansonia/Seymour townline, and on Friday night (29Spet06), my conure parrot escaped. He sounds distinctive and has a green body with a red tail, and a dark grey head. He will respond to his name, Zazu (from the Lion King). As well as common whistles, like a catcall/pretty girl whistle and a 'get over here' whistle, also Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Here is a picture of a conure: http://www.parrotscanada.com/types/GCCHermes.JPG

He is very missed. We rescued him about five years ago, and since, he has become very dear to my heart. Please respond to this if you see him, or think you do. Any information will be much appreciated! Feel free to email me, " emailclaudette@gmail.com" or call 203.675.9592.

Thanks for reading this, and feel free to spread the word. I've posted flyers, handed out 'business cards' and walked and walked and talked to anyone that will listen (especially those who look at me like I'm insane for whistling and calling 'who's the pretty bird?'). My family has made a recording, and we play it over and over.

Its been three weeks, and I'm heartbroken. Zazu came to us very unexpectedly: he was a neighbor's bird who was abused, horribly. I have worked with wildlife for many years, and so we decided to take him in. I was initially wary, as I was not sure what kind of a pet a bird would be. Also, we have 4 cats, and had a ferret and an iguana at the time. But, it wasn't a matter of us, it was a matter of saving him. It took about 1 month for him to do anything but screech. Then, over the next 3 months or so, he really opened up, mostly his beak, for mostly our skin, but we made progress. Now, after 5 years, Zazu is my bird, and I am his human. I miss him so much. I don't know what else to do but what I'm doing. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again,
Claudette
