Sponsor a Baby in 2008

Now that the holidays are over, I thought I would post a reminder that there are lots of Babys that are in need of sponsorship at TGF.

This is not a solicitation, just information.

If you are interested in sponsoring a Bird, please contact me. There are many many different birds available....big ones, small ones, naked ones, funny ones, sweet ones....just let me know.

SHADRACK Shadrack was one of the first birds to come to TGF. She was a pet turned breeder, and was part of an animal cruelty siezure along with 29 other Macaws. When she arrived at TGF, she was suffering from severe frostbite, salmonella & E-Coli. Today she is a very happy bird, and one of the staffs favorites. She is estimated to be between 40 & 50 years old, and even after everything she has been thru, she still loves human attention. She is one of the education birds

EUGENE Eugene is a 50 year old wild caught male. He has what is known as Angel Wing, a type of Valgus deformity, which is the result of improper nutrition at a early age. He lived in a pet store in a cage that was to small.

BELLA Bella is a 12 year old that was purchased as a baby. The owner determined that she was to loud, and destructive, so she lived in the basement where owner also kept reptiles. She suffers from asthma and severe respiratory issues.

GRECO Greco is a loud bird, with a disagreeable personality. One of TGF staff members took him for a while, but it wasn't a good fit.

MARIAH & ZOE Mariah came from a couple who loved her dearly, but lost thier home and were no longer able to keep her. Mariah adores Zoe and is now one of our education birds due to her wonderfull personality and willingness to befriend anybody.

Zoe is a female from Calif. who was given to us by some volunteers with other papilloma birds.

CHICKEN Chicken was a solitary bird for 11 - 12 years. He is a real Dr Jeckle/Hyde personality and an accomplished escape artist. He plays well with other birds.

DEANNIE Deannie is a 20 year old male. His original owner was sentenced to prison, and he was passed on to a heavy smoker. He came to us with severe vitamin A deficiency, feather destructive behavior and was quite the screamer. Over the last 2 years he has learned to play with toys, and eat good foods. He was very poorly socialized, and has an unpredictable personality.

CASPER Casper is a 53 years young female. She came to us with feather destructive personality and vitamin A deficiency. She came from a hoarding situation in Calif. with 41 other birds. She has a wonderful personality and since 1997 has been one of the education birds.

QUITO She came to us from famed Woody Creek Tavern when her owner died. She has kidney disease, scissor beak, and will mutilate her won leg if we don't keep it bandaged.

JOE Joe was adopted but then returned. He truely needs to be outside foraging and flying.

If anyone is interested in sponsoring one of these baby's, here is the link for the form:

If you have any questions, please feel free to aske me here, or by PM.

Again, no one is "expected" to sponsor or donate. This is not solicitation, it is only information.

Thanx

If I had a job I would love to sponsor a bird, unfortunately, I am a college student and jobless. :-/ poor excuse, but best wishes and hope you get some supporters for your cute birds! I plan to support bird rescue organizations once I can support myself.

I'd dearly love to sponsor one of the birds at the Gabriel Foundation. It's such a fabulous organization. But I've been unemployed since April 2007 and am lucky to be able to pay the basic bills. Hopefully that'll change pretty quickly!

P.S. None of my birds suffer the consequences of my unemployment. They still eat better than I do and Dr LaBonde sees me whenever it's necessary. I'll give up whatever is necessary to make sure my birds are taken care of.

Gayla, you do so much to help these birds! And it is so kind of you to keep us sponsor mommies and daddies updated on our TGF fids. I love my two little golden conures! It's a great feeling to help these birds, I encourage everyone to help out if they can!
