Emergency re: the big 'keet rescue in NJ

If you have received any of the bird's that were found in the van isolate them immediately. I just received info from someone at the AWA. Many of these birds are now testing positive for megabacteria and psittacosis - get them to a vet right away. I'll see if I can figure out how to copy what I received so youse guys can read it.

Sorry, I'm not a computer person. The originator of what I received was Maureen Reynolds who is the Emergency Avian Intake & Foster Care Coordinator for the AWA in Voorhees. Per Maureen, Dr's Dazen and Kupersmith are currently treating several of these birds who have tested positive for Megabacteria and Psittocosis. The matter is also in the hands of the Atlantic County SPCA Investigator Nancy Beall. Sorry I couldn't copy the post. If you have adopted any of these birds and need more information I would contact Nancy Beall - in the meantime get them to a vet ASAP
