Contacted about parrot needing rehome!

Today I was contacted by someone who I had previously rehomed her Grey.Well she was coming to me with a referral.Apparantly her friend's health is failing and she needed to place her 5 year old Congo Grey.Well before she hung up she said wait there's another one who needs a home too.
It's a 10 year old U2 that has been in many homes. So we said our goodbyes and then the owner called me.We had a nice conversation.Without really thinking I more or less said yes.One part I left out was that I never discussed it with my husband.Well I finally did and after he blew a few fuses it's final they will be coming to our jungle after we do some rearranging.I have one question what is a good air purifier that will help with the U2 dander?I have asthma and that seems to be the only other one besides Cockatiel that bothers it.It's been years since I needed treatment.I just don't want make sure I'm doing the right thing.

ahhhhhhhhhh a too is the only bird I cant be round. They set my allergies off big time, which then starts the Asthma.
however, here is some info on cleaners. I have the 295 & 395 I think by sears as well, and am happy with them. The Grey Roost

After much research and question asking I purchased a Rabbit Air Bio GS 582-A. I have had it for about a month now. Boy what a HUGE difference it has made. I too have asthma and allergies. Living in Virginia Beach with the fire smoke from the Dismal Swamp and North Carolina has been a cherry on top the icing along with four Macaws molting. It was the best $400.00 I have spent in a verry long time. I ordered it on a Friday and with FREE shipping it showed up the following Wednesday. What a GODSEND! Highly recommend it. Bird Safe!

Congratulations on your new fids. You'll love the U2. I adore mine. She always makes me smile though all my black clothes are usually covered in white dust.

I think you are a bird collector. Sorry to say that, but you aleady have so many birds, and you said you have asthsma (sorry if I mis-spelled). I am sure you love your birds, but there comes a time when there is a time to say, that is it. How can you give them each individual love and attention. It has to be like an assembly line for you. I do Not in any way say you don't love your birds. But I love that I can take the time out for 1 bird and show him or her so much love and spend at least a few hours or more with them. How can you with so many? It is not fair to them.

Sorry, but I think you are totally way off base, someone who rescues is not a collector or hoarder, people who have numerous birds, have to be VERY organized,I currently have 57 from budgies to a new TOO,the cleaning is assembly line but the love and time for each never is,plus birds in a flock need less "human" attention because they have each other to interact with which is GOOD according to my A vet,I spend 1.5 to 2 hrs in am and 2.5 to 3 in the evening more than many other bird folks

Some folks are comfortable with one or two birds, others are comfortable with more. I don't think it's appropriate for anyone on this board to judge anyone else or make assumptions on how much time anyone is able to spend with their birds and then pass judgement on whether or not that is "enough time". It is unfair for you to use the word "collector" in that manner, as merely a euphemism for "hoarder" when you are not personally familiar with the individual or their situation.

While you may be more comfortable with only a few pets, there are those of us that get along extremely well with lots of pets. There are four people in my house taking care of and enjoying all of our pets. Feeding time is very organized here, but that doesn't mean there isn't any play time -- there is LOTS of it for everyone here everyday.

Saying that someone can't sufficiently provide enriching activity for multiple pets would be like saying that someone can't sufficiently provide enriching activities for multiple children. Everyone's situation is different. Do not judge until you've walked a mile in that person's shoes. Even then, it's not your place to judge.

Extremely off-base and deliberately rude.
