OK DYH fans....

There is a guy at my work who told me once he no longer had time for his DYH and when I said I d take him he backed off. Nobody wants to give away there bird but I dont buy - I rescue. Well now that I have all (or more than) I can handle... he is honest with me and says he is afraid of it because it bit him once and he doesnt like the food tossing (lol). He lets the cage pile up he says (GAH!!) but he cannot just "give" it away. So I say how much do you need. He needs the $300 he paid for the cage. I have NO CLUE but he says its big and he takes it out for power washing in summer but in winter the poor bird is banished to the basement and it doesnt get cleaned. The birds age is unknown but I saw a pic (hes cute BTW) and his full yellow head indicates he is a mature bird. fully feathered and supposedly not a big screamer. It is not DNA sexed.
SOOoooo anyone looking for a project bird for $300. I cannot take another bird right now regardless of cost. This bird is in Central Ohio and needing a better home. I am hoping someone can help ?
