YN Amazon to Rehome

I have made a very hard decision to rehome my YN Amazon. I do not want him bounced around from home to home as he has been. I am his 4th owner and know this is not the right fit for him. He needs to have a male owner that is very familiar with Amazons personalities. He will allow a woman to get near his cage if only to figure out how to bite her. i have held him when i first brought him home but now it is impossible. My husband whose other bird is a grey can not give this guy what he needs especially at the expense of his baby. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. i am so very afraid to give him up to just have him go somewhere else that will rehome him too. I know someone who wants him as a breeder but he loves men so much I dont want to do that to him either. I love him despite his flaws and want what best for him. Thanks for reading.

You might want to tell everyone what state you are in.

With all those birds in your signature, I'm wondering if his aggression isn't a jealous thing. I know in my house if I don't give anyone wanting their attention their attention, especially if that someone is Diddle, I'm running the risk of getting nabbed next time I go to them asking for attention. It also happens to my husband even when it's one of "his" birds. These birds see us as a flock mate/leader and when we don't give them all the attention they require, we get punished

My advice: Give him sometime to warm up to you. He could be acting this way because of how many homes he had. Him not liking females could also be because a female has hurt him in the past. Try giving him more attention and encouraging him to trust you.

I am in Dallas, TX. I have tried giving him time. I have tried everything. I didnt make the decision lightly. He likes the other birds just fine. he is also fine when my husband has him and my son too! its just my daughter and myself that he is very aggressive towards. He flew at my daughter and because he didnt realize his wings were clipped managed to just grab the bottom of her shirt. Scared me to death. I got him without her being bit but that was the last straw. i cant keep him locked in his cage its not fair to him.

I hope you will be able to find him the home he needs. I am glad you are trying hard to make sure he goes to a good one. Good luck.
